Wonderful picks by the judges. I look forward to seeing the honorable mentions.

Here are my suggestions for Your Best Shot 2025:
1) Add a black-and-white (monochrome) category.
2) Add a film category.
3) Split Nature/Wildlife into two categories: Nature/Landscapes and Animals/Wildlife.
4) Reveal the judges!

Congrats to all winners! There was a post on Instagram stating "Check out our gallery of honorable mentions!" but I cannot find it anywhere? I'm looking forward to seeing what were the other strong contenders.

jolynne_martinez:

It's here:

Edit: if you click on the Flickr blog there is a tab at the top for all of their galleries. And we can also get to it them all in their photostream, just like we find ours.

Congrats to the winners.
Would be great to have some explanation from the jury about the process and why they selected the winner photos. Altering perspectives to extend horizons by learning what professional jury members see in other people´s pictures.

Congratulations to the winners.
I just have one question left.
I've noticed that in the last few contests only those with a PRO account win.
Is there a chance that someone who doesn't have a PRO account can win one of the contests?
If so, should they put it in the contest requirements that participants must have a PRO account?
Could a contest be launched for those who don't have a PRO account and such advanced photography equipment and software, i.e. talented amateur photographers?
I ask these questions with great respect to the organizers.
I don't ask them for self-promotion purposes. I just want more photographers to have a chance to win a prize.

That would indeed be useful, though there is no accounting for taste and the winners of any photography contest depend to a great extent on the particular tastes of the judges.

My sister participated once in a contest that required five photos to be submitted, and as she had only four that she considered "worthy", to complete the set she added a random shot of the view through her window, which she had made to fill up the 36-slide roll of film and have it processed. That shot won the contest!...

DanArFoto: That is more than likely either (a) Due to winners and runners up receiving pro memberships for a year as part of the time (b) coincidental.

In in terms of equipment, what would you class "advanced photography equipment"? Do you mean if the person has a dedicated SLR, DLSR or Mirrorless Camera? I guess my question is more at what point do you cut off between "Advanced" and "Beginner" as I would argue that a seasoned amateur would be to get great images with their phone.
