Thank you again for a successful Flickr Birthday Photo Challenge. We had so much fun and were inspired by all of your submissions and interpretations of the themes. We picked out some photos from the photo pool that we think were great representations of the challenge prompts.
We also randomly selected several winners who completed the 21 day challenge streak.Check out the winners on the Flickr blog and if you see your name there, we’ll be in touch soon to square away the prizes!

Congratulations to all the winners👏 !
Lots of inspiring photos 👍.
I completed this 21-day challenge, was not selected, but... isn't the important thing to participate 😉 ?

I enjoyed this contest immensely. A very big thank you for picking me as one of the streak winners. I look forward to the next contest greatly.
Such a great way to celebrate and share each others posts.
I love the community here. Other social sharing sites have nothing on Flickr.

Being a newbie on Flickr and with all the great photos I saw in the pool, I didn't expect to be selected as a winner, I guess it's beginner's luck 😊
So thank you very much and congrats to the other winners!

Great idea and event ,
Congratulations to everyone who submitted a photograph !
Congratulation to the winners ... Now ... I think we had too much photos and excellent submissions for just a few winning picts ... and for the 21 day challenge streak, I don't even fully understand the choices ...
Well I had fun making my Flickr21Challenge album ... but I feel a little like no one noticed my work on that ... 16 views ?! ...
... Well the important part is to participate indeed isn't it ! ^_^

i am sure almost all the views from this group will be to the individual photos rather than to the album you made.
Certainly that was the case for me - I think I got lots of views to the 21 old pictures that I posted to the group.
I looked at lots of pictures here too but i didnt view very many albums from participants.
But yes for sure it was the process of deciding what picture for each theme/prompt and looking at others pictures & their different interpretations that was the fun for me and for most people here.
Hey what a fine thing it is for those who were chosen among soooooooo many fabulous images, well, well done to the winners and also all the participants:)
The winners took incredible photos, congratulation to everyone!!!!!
I loved going through my photos to decide which one to pick. Congratulations to the winners

Congratulations to winners stunning photos, shame they all seem to be pro members from what I can see. Perhaps next time do a pro and none pro members one to give those who can't afford pro membership a chance.

Well, the prizes (Pro memberships) might already been granted to the winners, so sure they are now all Pro's! Please avoid jumping into conclusions folks!
About the results of the competition or another view
This competition was a good idea. Thousands of Flickr members were waiting for it and seriously preparing. And now, after a painful 2-week wait, the long-awaited results have been published. Giving credit to the work of the jury and the winners, it must be said that the impressions were not unambiguous. The criteria for the jury's work are not entirely clear. The impression is that sometimes in assessing the works, not the skill of the photographer and high creative criteria prevailed, but an extremely simplified approach and political correctness. It turns out that in order to be noticed, it is enough to mirror the object corresponding to the theme of the competition and original creative techniques or a deep meaning of the work are not at all necessary. /In passing, I want to note that there are questions about the selection of "best photos of the day": it is unclear why often far from the best works end up here?/
The jury's comment is surprising: "We also randomly selected several winners who completed the 21 day challenge streak".
Are you serious? People tried, searched, created, did not sleep nights, and in the end "randomly". Very sad and offensive.... I want to hope that the criteria for evaluating the work in the next competitions will be closer to real creativity and will not be "random"...

Then again, who said this was to be a serious contest? It was meant to be a fun, interesting challenge, not a dead-serious event. Not all of us are highly skillful nor have posh, super expensive camera gear available. This place is a platform for all sorts of photography enthusiasts, including amateurs and beginners, so please stop highbrowing. We are here to share our photos and have fun after all.
you have, so far, put the same cut/pasted comment into 3 separate threads in the discussion section of this group.
the other 2 threads are:
www.flickr.com/groups/flickr21birthdaychallenge/discuss/7...
and
www.flickr.com/groups/flickr21birthdaychallenge/discuss/7...
Personally I dont think that is good form to do that.
Could you squeeze out all the fun of a simple challenge here any more?!?!??? It was something for fun for all Flickr members to participate in. It's not the "WORLDS BEST PHOTOGRAPHER EVER, IN THE UNIVERSE and STRATOSPHERE OF LIFE" contest by Flickr, or Kodak, or Getty. It was simply created for members to have a little fun, as well as to encourage member participation and engagement with the Flickr community, which encompasses all skill sets and experience levels.
Cool your jets and relax, and thank Flickr for doing it in the first place. It was for Flickrs 21st birthday celebration after all.
Sometimes taking things too seriously and stamping YOUR rules and ideas of what is or what is NOT an acceptable photo entry, will inevitably let you down one way or another. And it looks like your expectations let you down bud.
Thanks for the great challenge and opportunity to be a part of it! :-) It was fun and challenging a little, but also interesting and inspiring! It became a good start for me in Flickr, hope to stay a part of this community for a long time ;-)
