My mom taught me that "mother's Day" is primarily a manufactured holiday for the purposes of Hallmark Greeting Cards and others to make more money. She never wanted any special recognition for this day and we never gave one to her.
Today I posted a new album in my account, "rose fazenda" which is of a fantastic large rose farm that we discovered located within 4 miles of our remote mountain valley refuge in Bahia, Brazil. There are still more shots that I have in my mind to add to it, next time I go there.
Today, we are domiciled in a small city 250 miles away, where my wife is busy selling roses to the flower shops and the churches in the area. So far, she is receiving astounding success and she is very happy.
When she is happy, I am happy.
My mom is dead, but her memory lives on......

My mom taught me how to be the son of an artist. I don't have her gift, but she has supported my photography for a long time and she is a good critic!
My mom taught me to wear clean underwear in case I got hit by a car.
Sarah Lipscomb i have a few pictures here but they usually dont focus on the art. You can see pictures of her if you search my photostream for ‘Barbara.’ Quite a few are in an art studio :)
We know that one too!
my mom tought me how to appreciate nature and people who take care. she is now a dementia patient but recalls flower names and geners. Botany during British time
thats so sweet. my dad had dementia and as a historian he was able to answe any of my history trivia questions I used to get on my phone. I guess those kinds of things are embeded in their brains...

My mother taught me to be myself. She was an adventurous soul, and I miss her dearly. The photo I submitted of her is during August 2020, the height of Covid. She needed a cane to walk but she was determined to get as much fun as possible out of every outing. She died just 10 months later.
Mom told me not to ignore the smallest things. Look around; you see them, but don't ignore them and run your car over them. i am in tears I cant write any more

My mother opened up the world we live in to me, taught me to love everything beautiful in this world, to find this beauty in everything. All people know how to look, but only artists see everything beautiful in detail...
So, now I have become an artist too.

My mom taught me to be independent, to respect myself and to take responsibility for my choices in life… to choose happiness versus always living to please others… that was a big one, I think… as she was the youngest daughter of 14. I miss her every day.
How important friends are in life. She is 87 now and sadly has lost many friends, but she is still in touch with friends she has known all her life.
My mom taught me that I am always loved by her and my dad, always, forever, no matter what.
