The Start of Fall Foliage

Crepe myrtle trees leaf out later than most other trees in this region, and they also begin shedding their leaves while flowers remain on the trees. Here you can see leaves in all stages of maturity against the longleaf pine needles which range from between 8-18 inches in length.
