The possibility to submit series has been requested several times in previous years, but it has been difficult to provide a viable solution ... until now !

In a similar fashion as our WEEKLY "Plus Tens", we've created WEEKLY Group - SERIES

This is how it works:

How to submit?

- Create an album containing the images of the series
- Submit an image representing the series to the weekly pool as usual
- Make sure the image contains a clear link to the series album
- The discussion thread will be created including a reminder to judge the whole series and a link to the series album
- The format of the title will be Week 123 - author - image title - SERIES for easy identification
- Feel free to add any comments you consider necessary, like what you expect to achieve with the series, or an external link to a slideshow or any other form of presentation you would like the reviewers to consider
- You can submit only one series per month
- Only one submission per week will be accepted as usual.

Critique and Vote
- Visit the album using the link provided in the discussion thread, review all images and return to the discussion thread
- Read any special request left by the author at the beginning of the thread
- If present, please try to follow any external link for an alternative presentation and better evaluation.
- Provide critique as usual on the discussion thread and vote for keeper or freeflight
- While commentary on the individual images is welcome and always valuable, the critique needs to be made with the series as a whole in mind, same for the vote.

Here's the catch

Keepers will be removed from the Weekly pool, but will be invited to the WEEKLY Group - SERIES pool as we do with the plus tens

The reason is the submitted image is a representation of the series, but not what's being judged. Therefore it does not belong to the Weekly pool.
At the same time, a dedicated pool will develop in a natural way, showing creative ways to represent a series work that will accumulate in a curated specialized collection.

I really hope you welcome the idea and find the motivation to take part with your own series and providing the same quality critique that has made Weekly so valuable to us over the years.

100% of the credit goes to ferlopez...his idea, his plan, his implementation. Well done Fer!

Yes - well done indeed.

Any thoughts about submitting older series that haven't been critiqued as such before?

I certainly will, but not yet. I need to make a selection, I have more recent ones, including nudes, which I have now added to the album but they are too many for a series. I also need to decide if the series should be just a representation of the concept - and so include rather different types of photos ( in that case the number could be higher) - or within the b/w/g technique select a more uniform subgroup.
So it's difficult album to handle and I need a bit of time.
any suggestion is welcome of course...

I actually think there's only a couple I wouldn't include and that the nudes fit fine. Looks terrific as an album

I wonder: if I have submitted some of the individual pictures already to WEEKLY, is the series still admissible?

rarze240:

absolutely, the series should be judged and critiqued as a whole unit, regardless of how individual images did on their own.
