We're very proud of the wonderful photos that make it to our tightly curated photo pool.....but sometimes a photo stands out above them all.

It's a shame for these photos to get buried in the pool so soon before everyone gets a chance to see them. So...as we curate the pool and come across these outstanding photos, we'll share in this thread...and we encourage you to do the same. Feel free to tell us exactly what about the photo strikes you...or if you prefer, let the photo speak for itself.

*Note: Don't share your own photo, this is about the appreciation of our fellow "Less is More" friends :-)

Share by by grabbing the HTML code for the medium 640 size and posting in the thread. Posting instructions are here.

Enjoy!

While scrolling through the pool, I came across some truly great images that I felt would not qualify as being “minimalist”, but then, I suppose, it is a word open to subjective interpretation.

This one seemed to me a great example of my view of the true essence of minimalism.

I will access my account on a browser shortly and post a medium sized version, a process not possible with the App on my iPad {Edit: now done}

frankie-frank:

Totally agreed. I noticed that one as a standout in the pool too. Perfect balance with the wide part of the road in the bottom right, and the tree in upper left. A great editi8ng choice to make it high contrast which accentuates the key lines while downplaying non-essential tones and lines. Great stuff.

For a change an example of a minimal composition, in which the background is a regular pattern and not totally unstructured. As the pattern is regular and the dishes contrast to the background, I perceive this photo as minimal.

A photo, which maximizes the negative space by asymmetric composition. Although there isn't much in the photo, it is in no way boring.
