its 00:45 in Edinburgh, my pregnant wife is crashed out on the couch and i'm back here to confirm arrangements for a new 'street'ish project.

I've just been offered (based on my bus project) full photography access to a great live entertainment venue called Bannerman's in a cool part of town called Cowgate. I've actually just set up another Flickr account as part of the share-what-i-collect arrangement. The venue is in a massive cave-like, rabbit-warren so I should be able to produce some gothy, drippy images.

Watch this space :-) www.flickr.com/photos/14727688@N00/show/
benroberts Posted 19 years ago
they have 'mixologists' in bannermans now? christ, what is the world coming too?

does it still have edinburghs most competitive pool table?

how long until you're Father Joe? or should i rephrase that - how long until your brief but meteoric fling with street photography comes to a premature yet enforced end?! hahaha!
~Joe~ Posted 19 years ago
HA! She's due June 3rd, and i've convinced her that this is all just training to capture those 'candid' baby-growing-up moments in the most timeless and pleasing way! I think she does see through it, but is just letting me live that illusion a bit longer :-(

No idea about the pool table reputation yet, but it does seem like something out of Dusk to Dawn in there so far.

Then I saw my credit card bill for January and decided to wait...LOL.

it's 11:51PM in Los Angeles right now and I am finishing up with a editing session on a short film I co-wrote and co-directed with my friend and fellow director (known as Truckstop on Flickr). I think in the middle of that I found a little time to shoot a Polaroid SX-70 shot and scan that. Eat half a cheesecake, gripe to myself about my little belly that is forming etc etc. otherwise my eyes are feeling like they are about to bleed.

Benny, the digital discussion is sooooo tempting for me to pipe into but I am actually going to refrain as I want to try and get a little bit of sleep

Well, I was sitting here pondering why all the photos produced with my new camera were so low key; so dark. I mean REALLY dark in composition. Turns out the lens had this defect. Some idiot in camera production left this plastic disc-like clippy thing attached to the front of the lens barrel. What kind of cruel prank was that, huh? Now that I've got that off and thrown it in the trash, my pictures have brightened up allot.

O, shame. But I guess the idea of five photographers playing football on Hackney Marshes and being on Flickr was too good to be true.

It is 3.07am here and I am listening to music, drinking bad coffee, and trying to get through a load of RAW files so I can feel guilt-free tomorrow when I go and shoot some black and white film.

I'll probably be shooting a new Chinese emulsion I've found, but by a stroke of luck (and some badly pronounced Chinese), I've managed to find someone in Xi'an who can supply me with Ilford Pan 100, FP5, and Delta 100. So, a few more options.
