You can get "Impassioned Eye" from NetFlix, too - I though it was interesting the way Bresson kept holding prints up in front of his face, hiding behind his work.

I know this showed up in another HCSP thread, but I'm once again obsessed with Richard Kalvar's Earthlings. It's all funny at first, then you start to see the craft, then you start to see the philosophy behind it, then (if you're me) you start to feel a little less crazy...
Stephen Shore video is a really good one. Gives you time to think about some of the points he makes about compression of time, articulation of space, knowing where you are going.
not really street again, but some might find it interesting...

Pulp yesterday, New Order today, I don't think my brain can take much more musical reminiscing.
I never pay much attention to who directs music videos. Are there any more photographers moonlighting as music video directors I should know about? (Excluding the obvious i.e. Anton Corbijn).

maciej - that's news to me.. i never would have guessed he directed a new order video..
funny - the latest comment on youtube for that vid -
"I wonder if this video is about US-Mexico border relations? The scene with the dudes looking over the fence look rather like Tijuana, as for the rest, no idea...
tijuana? that's nyc.. more specifically brooklyn.. even more specific is broadway/s6th/bedford intersection..
(the last two are guesses and i don't really know what williamsburg looked like in 1989)... can anyone confirm? kramer?

Yup. Definitely somewhere within a block of the Williamsburg Bridge. You can even see the underpass where I took that picture in the background of a couple shots. This is almost the same place, too. Funny. Williamsburg is played out, man.

I guess most of you know this famous photo of the Vietnamese girl burnt by napalm taken by Nick Ut

there is a video on youtube of that event:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev2dEqrN4i0
is it him shooting at 0:57? and I am pretty sure it it him giving her water
"Nick Ut remembers how this (now famous) little girl pulled off her burning clothes, screaming, "Nong qua!" (Too hot!), and how he poured water from his canteen on her to cool her off, after which he put all the kids in his van and took them to Cu Chi Hospital.

Not exactly street, but interesting (I remember some discussion about whether there was some PS involved): a short video about the making-of of Denis Darzacq series on jumps. Interestingly, it's shot on film and no quick burst: just one shot per jump...
[edit]: just noticed Shveckle already had linked to the article with the video at the end of the htread :-)
