Ok this is for members to post their favorites from the group
So I will start. I will probably post more later but I will search through to find my favorites, through the pages. I will not be able to get to all the pages so I most certainly skip some great shots. One of my favorite flickr street photographers is junku-newcleus for his consistency, his printing/photoshoping style, subject matter and composition and I like that a lot of his shots are taken at night. Favs are:

effing genius. i love how the depth recedes into more and more intensive interaction and light. i love the profile of the lady in the foreground and her digital distraction is so now. balance. perspective. flow. it's even sexy. hope that wasn't immature of me. =-> I would definitely be proud to hang this.

That is a great shot, and I have been to that bar and sat right there in this alley way.

Wow, thank you very much!!!!! I have to say flickr (along with digital technology) has reignited something I had giving up for years.

This guy isn't primarily a "street" shooter as it were but I really enjoy this shot by photobrettwalker
For my money this guy is the downright most consistent & interesting street shooters I've come across in the the past year: edmo
Couldn't pick just one if I wanted to...

A flickr photographer that has grown on me slowly and who know I just think is completely fabulous is david solomons I bet if you keep looking at his stuff it will suprisingly grow on you. It is hard to explain exactly why I like the photos so much, but he is always catching people's expressions so well or a connection between two people who are with each other. Or sometimes just one person's expression being caught so well. He really captures that split second human expression of connection with their own thoughts.

I haven't been able to stop looking at this shot since I saw it appear in the pool...just love how sensitively it was handled, the contrast of blacks on the lovers with the white all around, and the fantastic framing

interesting shot - could it even possibly be will himself? if he was holding the camera in his right hand, and flicking the bird with his left, then it's definitely possible...
Well i would like to bring this to the top again. I really enjoy this photo:

I deleted the posts of people with their own pictures in them.
I think it doesn't make any sense to do that in this thread. And I feel like I can even allow myself not to explain why...

i looked at it again, and i still find it kind of incredible. I guess my intention was just to share something i like. sorry if my choice was a letdown for you...

adelinee - i don't know if we need to be so dramatic about it. I mean you didn't really let me down. I just fail to see the "incredibleness" of that photograph. It isn't bad, but I am curious as to what you find so incredible about it. It just seems rather generic to me. I think he has way better photographs that i would have chose before this one to call incredible

500lb: didnt mean it to be dramatic, a bad choice of words on my part maybe. As to why i like it, well it was a shot i always always wanted to do but didnt quite succeed. I kind of thought it wasnt possible, so i was very impressed.

500lbGüerilla come on, you know there is no accounting for taste sometimes or rather it is just different people find different things interesting or good or whatever. I am always and never suprised as to what people find "great". From gallery shows to flickr fav photogs and images to online photo contests and the winners judges picks etc. Are you really suprised when someone picks a favorite photograph that you might think is nothing? well I am never suprised, I see these contests and sometimes the winning photograph to me is excellent and sometimes I can not understand at all why it was picked, this is very common to me, so common that I really do not even question it. Either I want to try and play the game or I don't. Either way I am not going to bang my hand trying to figure why an image is picked except if I want to be in the game or play the game, which most of the time just makes me not want to play the game (obviously because I suck and don't understand what is up most of the time). (This does not have to do with that particular image, this is a general comment about the subject)

-- from Maciej Dakowicz - (?)Check Maciej's stream if you don't already know him: IMHO, one of the best photographers on Flickr, and a great example of color street photography (for when you grow tired of the dark, blurry, grainy B&W pretending to be "art" !). Really top quality.

Do the shots have to be in this pool, or just of a member of the group?
My favs from the last few people who contributed to this awesome thread. (btw, I don't know how to post the actual pics here, so I'm posting links)

I had heard of this. Hope you don't mind revival. I feel it got a big boggy out there.
the reason I like this is all about the intimacy of the image. When Buchanear was making that image he was immersed in the business of photography and the situe. the line of eye bats between the reprise. its simple and it reminds me of the bold shadows of the trent parke picture, which is a good think. oh and its simple.
plus I always wanted a posse.
ha ha theres reprise in that because I just realised that Buchanear was the last person to reply before, me. Mysterious. see things are getting interesting already.
Balls. I can't post the pic.
its the one with the hands.

Please. Revive away. I'm glad to see a new [not-new, but you know]post about aesthetics instead of gear.
this one because it has a poise about it that I get excited about when looking at the images of Nachtwey. eee elea

This one becuase its so theatrical that it makes the viewing an excercise in absurdity. Junku nuwcleus

This because I love the colour and dont know how to do it. and the moment is that touchy feely, plastic bag in the wind, existentialist. sooooo 21st century. Kjetil_vantne
