hmm, not sure if hardcore is out of context here but this just 'cracked' me up...

Wow, thank you, I humbly thank you! I am not an admin but there are tons of photos in here I would put up here if I was. But since the other admins haven't, just say the word and I will.
benroberts Posted 19 years ago
no worries schveckle you've been posting some good stuff recently. i think it would be good to keep this thread for admin picks, then it gives pool contributors a point of reference to what we are looking for! if you're reading this and your images have been removed from the pool, have a look at the examples in this thread; although at a glance they all appear to be vastly different, what they have in common is either a punctum or an overall coherence that holds the viewer and keeps them interested; this could be a guy asleep on a kids trike (subtle, but intriguing) or a happy coincidence of people choreographing themselves into intriguing positions within the frame.
migrant Posted 19 years ago
I promise, I'll take some time to pick my favorites. Just don't have much time now for that...but I'll do it...

@shveckle: why not start a thread like "members favorites"?!...
Noshitthereiwas Posted 19 years ago
OK - there's such a lot of good stuff to choose from.

Benny - I came up with most of yours as I ran through the stream so, for what my own meagre opinion is worth, they get a double endorsement. Hin, yes, mecan's stuff rocks. Ya gotta hate him for it, but envy is the price of fame.
Outside of these, here are my picks from the recent stream:

Drive-in, Maryland 72

like the angles and atmosphere on this one

ice cream

cool atmosphere and alienation

all my fault

if yer gonna shoot people then you've got to get emotion, and this one does, specially, and in context

A quick show for boys - Cardiff

this one because this guy shoots such good social documentary and finds the telling moments

this one because it's seattle and i'm biased, and for the seattle commuter stroll, and the anonymity of the crop. everyman ... with latte.

OK, here are some images from the group I faved recently and that I think fit nicely here:

2U definitely knows how to take extraordinary subway pictures...

Did you know there was amazing light in Phoenix? toong_bo shows you where...

What?! hinius never stages his pictures?! how does he do that kind of things then...

anverse, a photographer I just discovered. Very nice colours and some sweet images that make you feel soooo good just staring at them...

Put Nils Jorgensen anywhere, he will find something magical about the place...

eddie-g, prolific shooter who knows how to fill the frame...

bedlam, one of the few X-pan king...

A typical eyeblink, raw, mysterious and a yummy grain...

With this and the "Seminal Image" thread, you really are giving me a hard time picking up images Ben!
There are so many others that I like...
Michael_Simon Posted 19 years ago
If Bolivia had better internet service I would totally take the time to share my faves...

Miss you fuckers, be back in August...

This thread can't go any further without another shot from this guy. Mecan certainly is getting a lot of praise around flickr and I'm happy to give a little more.

He's always giving us a special glimpse of his world.

As the World Turns

Cause wingdingo has beautiful pictures and seems to be able to piss people off and live to show it.

Kayodic is the mistress of light and lines. She makes me crazy.

Kind of new on Flickr, have a look at this guy's pics.
Street Photography in colour, a lot of gems in his stream. I just picked one up to post in this thread.

Why was one of the recent admin favourites deleted? The one shot by the Irish photographer?
benroberts Posted 19 years ago
which one?
hinius Posted 19 years ago
It was deleted, pedantically, because it wasn't an admin favourite (ie. it was a member favourite).
rainy digestion [deleted] Posted 19 years ago
Ah, I see.

You see, I'd not noticed the lack of the yellow star.
shveckle Posted 19 years ago
i noticed that, it was a member who posted his own pic as fav. Nice.
migrant Posted 19 years ago Edited by migrant (member) 19 years ago
Reminder: there is a Members favorites thread.

I just cleaned it up a little, btw: made the images smaller, added photographer names and fixed some links so that it is more enjoyable to go through.
Try to make your posts look all the same way as much as possible.

Don't hesitate to show us your favs there.

I noticed that of the occasional pix I've been uploading to the group over the past nine months, only one remains in the pool.

So I thought I'd better check out the admin faves to see what you're really after.

That's cleared that up, then.

@bitmapr i saw that shot the other day, its freaking brilliant, such a 'what the f**k' moment :)

Makes me wonder did the bull follow them in
bitmapr Posted 19 years ago Edited by bitmapr (member) 19 years ago
that 1/2 Woman shot doesn't do it for me. and viewing it large make me like it even less. that can't be good.

i faved the bull shot a while ago, and it popped out when i going thru my faves... and impressed enough that, i used the new 'invite to group' feature so i could put it in this thread.

i'd like to think the flying guy was riding it before he was thrown off.
