Mount Pilatus, near Lucerne, Switzerland. 2,120 m
Pilatus was named after a local legend which alleges that Pontius Pilate was buried there.
Numbered amongst those who have reached its summit are Conrad Gessner, Queen Victoria and Vladimir Lenin.
First ascent 14th century.

The river Reuss in the old part of Lucerne. You can see one of the two old wooden old bridges that are Lucerne's trademark. Adjoining the bridge is the tall Wasserturm (Water Tower), an octagonal tower made from brick, which has served as a prison, torture chamber, watchtower and treasury.

You see the river Limmat that flows out of the Lake of Zurich. On the left you have the Fraumünster and St. Peter and on the right the Grossmünster churches. The towers from the Grossmünster are often identified with Zurich, also as logo for the University of Zurich. The Picture was made standing on the Quaibridge.
