I chose this picture because I love roses and because it's modest. The resolution is a bit poor and the photo is a bit out of focus but the buddy icon is so small that it doesn't matter. I really like shiny things so I like the tiny glass balls that decorated the bunch of silk roses this photo is of.

This squirrel photo was quite a lucky shot. It suddenly climbed up the fence, looking for nuts. It quickly ran away - very disappointed - when it discovered I carried only bread for lunch... Thank God I had my camera ready ;-)
I took the photo 9 years ago, and have always considered it to be one of my best photos. Therefore it seemed only logical to use it as my buddy icon when I joined Flickr a few months ago.

This pic was taken as a bio portrait when I was traveling and performing dance. It's only missing our last child as she wasn't existing yet. I used this photo for my icon because it was such a happy family moment, not to mention, I love black and white pics. When I look at my icon, I rememer that I was looking at one of my children, thus my smile.

I didn't like this picture at first because it focused on the wrong subject (the wind kept blowing) then I realized this image represents my life.
I feel my life was destined for something beautiful (like the butterfly), but there is always something getting in the way to steal the focus (the leaf).

Here's the original of my icon. This spring I gave in to raging middle age and bought myself a red Mustang convertible GT (8 cylinder) a perfect example of wretched American excess. I'm not getting any younger..... This is the most fabulous car on the planet because I swear when I get in and put the top down, 20 years just melts away. My red 'stang, TZ RSLF.
I should add that the license plate is a law enforcement badge with a rose laid over it, for the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC. The legend at the bottom, under the license plate frame, reads Heroes Never Die. It's in honor of my brother Tom, who died in the line of duty 35 years ago. There are pictures of the Memorial on my photo stream.

I chose this icon out of my love for LUTRY in French spoken Switzerland.
Lutry is a little village with all the goods things in life united in it, I live 2 minutes from the lake shore, 2 minutes from the bus stop and 5' from the train stop... But I am found mostly sitting at the lakeshore, contemplating life and the utter beauty of this part of Switzerland. It's - to me - the place closest to paradise on earth!!!!
I will have to leave my paradise next year, my Hero Husband has gotten himself a new job abroad.... So, cry a large tear with me and hold my broken heart together with me!

My friend and I were going to see a waterfall in Oregon and she wanted to get my picture...there is a sheer dropoff just on the other side of the tree. I'm usually making funny faces or sticking my tongue out to anyone taking my pic. Having fun! I chose this one because I'm always goofing around and it pretty much describes me without words!

Hi! I'm Lívia. This is me at Arpoador Stone (Rio de janeiro - Brazil) at the first sunset of 2008. I like this photo because it was so hard to take... There were a lot of people there, so everytime there were heads in my photos. This one was the only one without other people's heads. I wanted to catch the reflection of the sunset at my sunglasses and also at the buildings by the beach... Though the focus was not were it was supposed to be, I like this picture. And it was a great day!!! That's why I chose this one to be my buddy icon picture.
